If you receive an unsolicited phone call or see a webpage from someone claiming to represent Microsoft or any other company, hang up immediately. This is a hoax, and the caller will try to trick you into giving them personal information or money. Companies will never proactively reach out to you to provide technical support or anything regarding your account. If you’re concerned about a possible hoax call, contact the company directly to confirm. Don’t trust caller ID either – scammers can spoof their number to make it look like they’re calling from a legitimate company. Be vigilant and don’t let yourself be scammed!
